Does anyone know if there is any other way (other than Expansys) to buy a Palm Pre for use in NZ?

Would appreciate your comments on this one.

Ebay would probably be cheaper, Plemix is another possibility.

Worth waiting for unlocked versions of the Palm Pre Plus though, considering its improved Vs the original Pre?

If you go ahead would be really keen to hear your feedback on the device.

Thanks for this. Plepix does not currently have the Palm Pre available. There are some on ebay. Finding a gsm palm pre plus is impossible at the moment.

Any other ideas?

Are you sure you want the Palm Pre? I have had a go with the device and I'd have to save I wasn't that impressed. The hardware keyboard that slides out is terrible. Tiny little hard buttons. Not trying to sway you either way. See if you can get a demo of the device before you buy.

...and by the sounds of it those are some of things addresses by the Pre Plus...

The problem is that getting your hands on a test model first is next to impossible!!!! I would love to have the time to try before buy but cant see anyway for this to happen.

Finding a Palm Pre that works on GSM is impossible at moment as well so still looking at the original pre.

I have spent considerable time watching vids and reading reviews. Without ever having had a go on a palm pre (and having been a long time iPhone owner) the WebOS looks simply stunning.

have been watching and waiting for palm pre for a while. I have found some online store selling unlocked GSM pre in Germany. Trying to get one of my german friend to figure out whether they can sell to NZ without paying local GST. However, I reckon I will wait few more months as price may drop after GSM version available in US.
