If anyone knows how to connect the xv6700 using wmodem for interent on my laptop please let me know. When I try to connect I get "Not registered to Network, or com port 8 errors." Or if there is new software out there that will allow me to do this I would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

I assume you are using Sprint, since this Pocket PC is not available on Verizon. Are you using the correct Sprint username and password?

You could ty removing the modem driver while the Pocket PC is connected, and when asked if you want to install the driver again you search the file instead of Windows doing the automatic install.

After that, open Control Panel, Phone and Modem, and see if the CDMA USB Modem is listed. With the Pocket PC connected you can do a Query Modem and see if the response comes back. If it does, then the connection is ok, and the problem is on the services your account allow you to use.

Unless of course he's one of the lucky few with the Verizon test XV6700. There are quite a few people out there floating around with this Verizon device, and it basically just makes me mad that I can't get mine yet. I just want mine before Christmas.

Also, if you want to go the legal route, you can always have tethering setup on your Verizon account for about $15 per month according to "VZW Employee" over at Howard Forums.

Any chance you know when Verizon biz customers might get their shot at ordering the device?

Regarding modem, I'm sure there's a hack, but I know the new BB7130e allows tethering for $15/month. I'm sure we'll see the same for the XV6700 and the 700w.

Is your account allowed to access data? Are you accessing data ok from the Pocket PC itself?

The account loging should be [yourphonenumber]@vzw3g.com, password vzw. Try using the on-screen keyboard, since the XV6700 requires two keys to enter numbers, easy to miss something.

Otherwise, could it be that Verizon have disabled this feature on their version?
