The standard for EVDO RevB is expected to be published soon. The theoretical limits are 73.5Mbps in the forward link and 27Mbps in the reverse link.

Now that is some serious bandwidth but it does come at price in that it is extremely resource hungry in the radio department.

You have to wonder (well I am wondering) what would you do with that bandwidth? It does make ADSL2+ seem a bit slow.

bugger me!

what's the likelihood of Telecom moving to RevB? and if it's in the pipeline, then what sort of timeframe are we to expect?

No decision on RevB yet - RevA is probably being rolled out by Telecom later this year.

Would love to know what those speeds were to do to the battery life, given how hungry current CDMA technologies are..... both CDMA2000 and WDCMA

Rev A will be fast enough for me but can someone enlighten me. Will my Harrier cope with the upgrades or is a new handset required.

I think all current EVDO devices should handle RevA, but could be limited by other internal factors (i think Harrier is already limited to 2Mpbs max speed).

I don't see battery getting any worse after all battery life is affected by many factors and the radio is only one part of it. Will still be 200mW max output just like 1xRTT and EVDO Rel0.

Although it might be time for a smaller version of 'Mr Fusion'.
