I paid twice as much as the guy was asking (because I want to help the community in the only way I can).

My wife is so happy that she said she would have been happy to add $100 onto what I paid.

Hey great you can donate as much as you would like really , although a lot of people have quite a few units ( 3-4 or even more ) so aids up to quite a bit.
But luckily we have so many people offering to do everything possible to get everyone up and running again for a very small cost, without the commercial interests of it all.

Where is the best place to get the Chip Quik kits ?

I found that Chipquik themselves were probably one of the best options:  http://www.chipquik.com/store/ but wherever you go, it's pretty expensive stuff. The one you want is SMD1 here: http://www.chipquik.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=210001 but count on paying US$30 landed for 1x kit which should be good for about 10x PROMS. They do get it to you very quickly or quikly - around 5 days each time I've ordered it.

I got mine from Element13, overnight delivery from Australia but more expensive than chipquik.

It is an amazing product that works very well.

Anybody else out there needing prom change out and software patch in the tauranga area. I'm trying to gauge how many chips to put on backorder.

Only have seven more tivo's to do as far as I know.

PM me if you still need it done.

I'm impressed! I have more channel info now from the Oz-mothership than before on Tivo-mothership.

BUT, my tivo is now 1 hour out! It's saying 11pm @ Midnight. TVNZ news in the guide is @ 5pm. I suppose if they are both out it may still work...lol

I did completely wipe and reset my tivo due to swapping out the board to another unit, so everything should be from Oz now.

But i can't see where to fix my time?

I tried with regular solder in the weekend to remove the PROM chip but by the time I tried heating up the second side, the first side already hardened up, hence why I should've got low temp solder in the first place lol.

Would this work? - https://www.trademe.co.nz/a.asp?id=1461195773

Been thinking that myself.

Just make sure you give the pads a good clean with solder wick when you have the device lifted.

No setting for daylight saving, and it should not be needed as long as you're set to NZ. I haven't seen your problem before. Maybe you need to delete Program Information and ToDo list, and reboot/reconnect to the network.

Just cutting the legs off the chip is a viable option if you are trying to do this on the cheap/without the ‘proper’ aids.

My box has been modded and seems to be working but for one thing.

The EPG is out by several hours. (Time is showing correct at 6:30pm but the guide or info shows programmes about 1:30pm)

I tried a network update but it is still the same.

Is anyone else seeing the same problem?

Because your guide may contain a mixture of old data from the official EPG and data from the new OzTivo server, some funky things can happen. Go to the Restart/Reset menu and choose the option to delete Program Data and To do list. This may take a long time, but should flush all the funky data. After that, connect again using the Network Menu item. This procedure should not touch your exiting recordings. Remember also, any season passes need to be recreated for use with the new OzTivo EPG.
