Say what, a case of sour grapes it ever there was? We also went elsewhere as well because you were asking far more then anyone else! We got a much better deal plus better service from a person who was in fact recommend by Darren king, your running a business for profit which goes completely against the spirit of the TiVo community, which is owned by the community and run by the community not you.
I had 4 prom chips done at $20 each at the time this was less then what you wanted for one!
No one's asking you do it or to stick around for the future, that's completely your decision.

need2noy if you pm me I'll put you in touch with the most knowledgeable guy for TiVo.

Or if you want contact Darren directly

@TENKAN There have been some people prepared to modify Tivos for beer money, but most of these people have other jobs, and this has been a  hobby. However, I decided to integrate this into my existing small home based business back in 2017. I've been recommended by Dr Tivo (Darren in Australia) since day 1 and still are. I do know that Darren has a day job and accepts donations. The simple fact is that you cannot modify a Tivo for the price you paid, and run a sustainable legitimate business based on that. Most of these modifiers have not stuck around, and there's never been a law or rule that says one cannot charge for this service. I've modified roughly 400x Tivos so far, and you're the first person who has claimed that my charges were too high based on what I do, and the support I provide in various aspects relating to this project behind the scenes.

Tivo upgrades to operate with the new OzTivo EPG, support and service. Over 400 performed here so far. See: www.hillcrest.net.nz

@ Tenkan, I’d say your being totally unfair.
Take any appliance like that to a repair place and expect to pay a $100 fee when you put it on the counter.
I’d say Spong and anyone else wouldn’t have covered their hourly rate modding these , so kudos to all of them!

Spong did my Tivo as well very quickly and I thought it was a great price for what he did and it was couried back to me straight away.

And also supplied a new image and the program to install it on the new 1 terrabyte drive I put in myself.

I'm very happy with the result and my tivo is still going strong, A lot better than the panasonic and Dish TV PVR I tried as well, Tivo runs rings around them !!
