HI--- as mentioned before by another poster, HNP is no longer included with TiVo.. So just curious if there is any way to access my TiVo (it came with the wireless dongle thing) from my computer and vice versa?
PyTivo and Alternatives? Can they be used without TiVo's HNP?

Cheers

I've used kmttg with success from my Mac connected to same wireless network.
I do have my MAK tho, mine came with the home networking kit.

Kmttg is cool, shows free and used space pie graphs.
Copies off (S L O W L Y) to mac hard drive the .tivo files.
But I've had difficulty then converting them to usable .avis or whatever.

Cheers,
Joseph

Probably not.

Your tivo must have a Media Access Key (MAK) before you can transfer video to it.  Without the MAK, the PC share will show up on the tivo now playing list but you will get an error if you try to transfer a video file.

You should be able to find your MAK (if you have one) using the tivo remote by clicking on "Messages and Settings" -> "Account and System Information" -> "Media Access Key"
