Months... Over a year at least! During that time I've emailed, phoned, tweeted Maori TV and go next to nothing back from them apart from the fob off.

A mate of mine Dave flicked a message and they respond with this...

@strang0r We hv been trying 4 yrs to get on Tivo & finali our time has come. We shud b up thr soon. #Maoritv

Shame it didn't happen BEFORE the world cup.

I doubt it, sky are too pig headed and want viewer data in exchange for the EPG

Not linked and I fear we are a long way from getting the Prime EPG. It's a shame too, Prime is a lot better than it used to be.

"we've been trying for years." huh? I was under the impression that it was Maori TV who refused to let TiVo access their EPG, not the other wya around.

These were my thoughts too. What a crock! Alas, at least they are finally doing something.

This is the bit that interests me.

Apparently that was a load of BS.

Well if anyone from Prime stumbles across this, let it be known that I currently watch nothing on Prime even though it has shows that I know I like, for the simple reason that there is no EPG data and I never know what is on or when, yet when I had Telstra with the Prime EPG, I watched it all the time. I cannot be the only one with TiVo who has all but given up on Prime because of this. So, way to shoot yourself in the foot Prime/Sky.

Just download it, doesn't take that much data each month to keep up with Dr Who, Torchwood and Top Gear

Just download it, doesn't take that much data each month to keep up with Dr Who, Torchwood and Top Gear

I don't believe downloading these shows illegally is the option.

Not to mention downloading them illegally is... well.... against the law. With that said, do you have a legal method of purchasing these shows online and watching them?

You are not the only one.

While we do have Prime EPG on our series 1 TiVo, my wife never records anything on it because she always has a list of things to watch on the TiVoHD, important things like 'reality' TV which obviously take priority over semi-educational things that might be on Prime or MaoriTV.

Im quite sure sky’s reason for not giving tiVo Pime EPG made business sense. Could it have been because they saw (rightly or wrongly) tiVo as a potential risk to their revenue streams so they did their best to handicap it as much as possible. Not having Prim EPG would have put a lot of people off.

Yes, they lose a little bit of revenue as fewer TiVo customers will watch Prime, but they will retain far more from the customers who stayed with Sky paying $80+/month, but would have swapped to a tiVo had they had access to Prime EPG. I know it was one of the key factors forme in not buying a tiVo.

I also watch less prime due to it not being on the EPG. Maori has some good movies, so I am glad they are now getting it, as I used to watch very little due to it not being on the epg. Perhaps if tivo users write to primes/skys advertisers, prime may do something about it. It would be hurting their advertisers by not having as many viewers watching the station. I think it was bad that sky was allowed to buy prime in the 1st place. Now that they are going to be the only ones on it not providing a EPG may put some pressure on them.
