OK, I have the job of managing the Twitter account for my professional body.

I also have my own.

Twitter says the only way I can have both open is to use 'different browsers' but I do not know if they mean different windows in say Safari, or different browsers as in one open in Safari and one open in Chrome.

I want to be able to post and so on in both from my iMac (Yosemite) at the same time without logging in and out all the time.

Any ideas?

As simple as that. I run about 6 twitter accounts between my personal ones, work ones and a couple of band ones

tweetdeck, hootsuite et al.

or use the phone app, it supports multiple accounts (but switching is a three-click affair)

Tweetbot. Not cheap in Mac App Store Terms but it is by far my favourite.

Second Tweetdeck... it's great, and you can have all sorts of columns open. For example I have a column for all major NZ ISPs ...
If you have budget, then Sprout Social is a great tool.

Yay for Tweetbot.

I looked at Tweetdeck but I could see what was going to happen sooner or later there...wrong account selected when posting..!

Tweetbot allows you to move fully between one and the other with a simple mouse click so that is more safe and easier for me.

Social media is a bit of a mystery to me frankly (being pretty misanthropic on the whole, I cannot imagine why I would want hundreds of people knowing about my life) but I got landed with the job of looking after the 'work' one on a pro bono basis so I have to at least pretend I know what I am doing. ;-)

Twiiter is filled with a lot of nut jobs and can get quite nasty and bitter, a lot like facebook really. I find instagram is better as it is much more visual and a nicer environment.

Tweetdeck. I also use Hootsuite for its scheduling and because work has Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn pages so it's multiplatform. I don't like having my personal account on a Hootsuite account where other team members could potentially see it so for Twitter only I use Tweetdeck.

It's all a bit strange to me.

I use it to curate information others may find interesting; I don't generally engage in any form of dialogue on it.

Anyone I want to hear from knows how to get hold of me!
