So it's been released and if you're in the states you can apply to become part of the pilot program in which they'll send you one (or as many as you ask for if you are approved) Cr-48 laptops for you to test out.

I went through all the boxes and filled out all the fields to try and get one and then read the fine print TOC's and it is only available to USA residents only. I still clicked submit as if they wanted only americans to apply they wouldn't have let me choose NZ as my country option.

Looks interesting either way and the specs aren't half bad either (for what it's going to be doing). I'd be tempted.

With 30,000 laptops for the pilot they sure would be sending some out to influentials and other people around the world...

That wouldn't be a subtle hint that a certain someone might be acquiring one for his own nefarious purposes would it? Architecture is the wrong business for tech perks dammit.

No, not at all. I don't have any contacts at Google and my guess would be they would send these to open source supporters first - people running Sumer of Code, partners, etc.

I filled in and I has "New Zealand" as an option... but then I filled it fairly early on, after their announcement.

Filled it in also before realising it was US only, so I refilled it again and put my mate in the US under the address. Did any of you get an email from google with a link to that page? ( http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=129&TopicId=73068 )

Hope this improves my chances of maybe getting one :D
