I am looking to replace my existing bathroom extractor fan as the existing one doesn't move enough air (IMHO). Does anybody have any experience with a powerful fan, I know in other discussions people have recommended using commercial units to get enough airflow. I want to really get the air flowing out

I have a Mixflo MF150S, two speed, does around 500 cubic meters per hour. On low it's better than two fans I bought from Bunnings side by side. On high it pulls so much air through you feel cold so we rarely use high. Recommended. I got mine as part of a complete bathroom replacement by Bathroom Solutions, Wellington, who overall I recommend. Not sure if they'd sell just a fan, probably just go to a retail place.

What sort of fan do you have already?

How tight does your door close? The air going out has to be replaced.

Maybe the fan is just in the wrong place? I have a ordinary, standard extractor fan placed between the shower and a window. The window is always opened a little before the shower is used and there's no steam build up in the room no matter how long someone is in the shower. The fan has been placed to pull the steam straight out without causing any drafts. If the fan is in the wrong place and there's no incoming air steam will build up irrespective of how powerful the fan is.
