I has been busy creating a home automation app for the last couple of weeks and I think it's semi ready for testing.
The project is written in .Net Core and consists of the following components:
- Azure server side
- User portal for IoT management
- SignalR Hub for the IoT to connect to
- WebAPI for 3rd party integration (e.g. IFTTT).
- UWP Raspberry Pi 2/3 client app
I am aware there are a lot of "home automation" solutions out there but most of they require proprietary hardware to work which is less than ideal.
Also I see this as an opportunity to strengthen my programming skills (I'm a software engineer)
As I am still waiting for my Pi 3 to arrive, I want to see if anyone would be interested in testing the app.
What you need:
- A raspberry pi 2 or 3
- Some additional hardware to play around would be a bonus
- An SD card with latest version of Windows 10 IoT core installed and know how to sideload apps
- Some basic knowledge of JSON
- Some basic knowledge of .Net
PM me if you are interested.
