Has anyone successfully done this job? It looks quite straightforward according to the diagram that came with the replacement seals but I cannot pull the isolators away from the mixer body. The isolators are screwed to the water pipes and there is no way I can move them far enough away to free the mixer body. Is there some tradie trick to doing this or is it time to call in a plumber?

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

You've removed the clips (8623) and the supply pipes are not flexible enough to allow the isolators to be pulled aside?

I had one of these mixers that was dripping but replacing the rotor O-rings was all I needed to resolve the problem.

Yes, removed the clips but there is not enough movement in the copper pipes to allow the isolators to be moved away from the mixer. If I cant come up with a solution I will try just replacing the rotor seals and see if that works, thanks for the suggestion.

Must be heavy duty pipes! I wonder if the pipes are saddle-clamped to a stud or passed through a nog preventing them from moving?

They are quite rigid so I am guessing they pass through a nog :-(

Did that at least twice on my shower. I can see your issue, I used to just pull out the clips and the apparatus came out easily. But if you can't move the pipes, then you are sunk.

For years I wanted to go to another 'nondrip' make but that was the only one I could find that had the showerhead screwed right in. In the end we just replaced the shower and I have never had a drip since.
