RedDevil79NZ: Hi. Just wondering if someone can confirm if Samsung Blu-ray players can run the PLP App or is it just Samsung Smart TV's? If so, what model and is that app any good? I'm currently plugging in my Windows laptop to my TV to watch but would rather not have to do this. I don't have any other devices that have access to the PLP App so buying a Blu-ray player is probably the cheapest option. Thanks!

Only the Smart TVs have an APP. More devices were initially promised two years ago but never eventuated.

I wasn't much of a fan of the delayed sky coverage either... I found the commentators on them really bias and annoying!

LOL yes well it was feeds taken from the club TV channels with their own in house commentators. The funniest (worst) was the man utd commentators, every time an opposition player tackled a utd player they'd howl for a penalty or a card regardless of it being a legitimate challenge.

That's because the rest of the PL clubs are a bunch of cheats and thugs!

Said like a true Man U fan...ha ha ha

In fairness, though - those commentators on MUFCTV are awful...especially Paddy Crerand or whatever his name is.

that's because they did a deal with Samsung, who seem to have the deepest pockets of everyone...and they never seem to roll out anything new to every device - just the very latest and more expensive devices

I watched a few different fan views on SKYUK and never liked any of them. Much better sticking to the offical Sky commentators. Pat Crerand is a bloody legend, and very impartial!

Pat Crerand is unbearable. Even has a go at a player for "trying to con the referee" for appealing for a throw in on the half way line. I guess the problem with the club channels is they are not intended to be your main or as-live viewing of the game. They are more a second viewing from your club's perspective for people who like to re-watch games to analyse things a bit more.

Haha this is awesome.  Think I'll stick with the commentators on PLP!

It did kinda irk me that sky didn't pick up LFCTV for their delayed coverage, so I never got to experience the best commentary team (whoever they have)!

I guess I will go with the Spark offer for 20% off. Whatever it is, I suppose it will be better than other live streams online.

Note that the Spark offer of 20% off is only valid for subscribers to Spark broadband

We have a Spark landline/toll account, but broadband through Vodafone, so we are not eligible.

I think I will play chicken with PLP and get my EPL fix on TV1 this weekend (Chelsea vs Swansea is the live game) plus watch my club on its club channel later.  Maybe they will relent and realise that if they want subscribers to sign up again they need to stay with their 2014-15 pricing in our NZ low inflation environment rather than try for a 33% increase.  And yes, I know the EPL rights are more expensive and the 20 EPL clubs are flush with money ... so football isn't part of the worldwide low inflation environment.

I just wanted to check if anyone has used this voucher yet? One of my mates was concerned that this voucher is only valid for the first month and the discount does not apply for all the months. Can someone clarify this?

Bad new I'm afraid, the voucher was only for last season.. doesn't work this year if you try to sign up with it...

T's and C's:

Offer is available until the end of the 2014/2015 Barclays Premier League Season for all existing Spark Broadband Customers. To take up the offer you will need to request a voucher code and then sign up to Premier League Pass at www.premierleaguepass.com. Premier League Pass Monthly begins when you purchase and will continue until you cancel the service. The earliest date you are able to cancel your service is 31 July 2015. Offer is not applicable with any other active subscription offer, including Free Month Pass, you'll need to wait for the conclusion of this free month before applying this offer. Standard Broadband charges apply. Compatible device and broadband required.

Yeah, doesn't tell you the T&C's till you've entered your details and got your code.. i did try it on the PLP website anyway but as expected it didn't like it.
