Lostja: Am watching the Chelsea Crystal Palace game on a laptop and it is not really watchable. All the other games do far were fine

I watched that earlier today, and am watching the highlights show now without issue, never have any problems on BigPipe, nor did I when using a Vocus connection for Android/iPad/Browser/Smart TV.

Perhaps some of you guys having issues are using a DNS service to watch netflix or similar which is causing you to not get the EPL stream from the closest Akamai nodes? Or perhaps your ISPs suck and can't handle it when everyone in Auckland is stuck indoor due to the poor weather.

The new Apple TV will have an App Store so it seems to make sense that PLP will have an app,
like they do for iPhone and iPad, for the Apple TV. Yay. So I asked them and they said "Not at this stage" boo.

Seriously. Wtf? That's a great opportunity to make it more accessible as Apple
TV is pretty affordable and I'm sick of AirPlay dropping out.

At a guess I doubt they will start developing a new app until they know if they win the rights again.

I had a few issues last year, but this year so far I've been very happy with the quality.

I hope the buy the rights again (which I guess depends on if they made any profit), because i don't want to be paying for sky.

The rights are up for renewal again aren't they so I suppose they might wait, although given their poor history on platform support I wouldn't bank on it.

I'm hoping Sky win the rights again so I can get decent, HD quality footy on my TV without the need for an internet connection, but I also hope that they effectively do an online only deal a la PLP so that those that don't want a full Sky sub can get the footy...

And of course the rights will be more given the 20% drop in the NZ dollar, so if PLP does get them expect to be paying $250 a year.

With regards to device/paltforms there are so many and the price to develop and support them must be high.  Do others think that when they first decided to do this they thought they could get away with minimal device support and picture quality? I always remember the guy in charge saying he streamed other content at 1600 and thought it was great.

Just seen an ad on TV for PLP claiming streaming in "Full HD"! Really PLP, Really?!

Not completely related to the topic - but has anyone watched any of the live Bundesliga games on Youtube? Apparently we get the Friday game live.

I am not sure where the exact link is. I searched up Bundesliga tv rights in nz and saw that Youtube has the rights. I read a couple of other articles and saw that they will be showing the Friday night games live. Still not sure where is the link. I have subscribed to the Bundesliga channel on Youtube, but there was no link on Saturday when I tried to watch it.

Have been frustrated for some time with slight jerkiness when playing games on laptop or PC to TV via hdmi. Seems to be an issue with flash as it is not intermittent and is unrelated to network capacity.

But am now getting much better results using the Kodi add-on (which is based on the IOS streams I think). Plays with great quality now on either my laptop or even my Raspberry Pi.

Only issue I have had was no ability (yet) to start a live stream from the beginning.

Kudos to the developer.

Interesting that Optus has outbid Fox Sports in Australia for the EPL rights from next year
