A few here have said they are over it. If you want to watch stuff whenever you want, and you need to fix it every now and then, or every few days, or when you sit down with the other half and find its now broke again, thats a PITB. If its a tech interest or a challenge, thats different. That's fun. For the non Geekzone types, it was last weeks story, now forgotten as NF NZ is ok, FTA is ok, then there is alternate siurces, all of that works out of the box.

Its probably being dropped by those that have high WAF requirements.  My media setup is complicated and if it fails then she gets angry, but its easy to fix... if I was to rely on these services and they're playing cat and mouse, she would give up and watch other stuff, that is easy to get and easy to find; mainly meaning FTA/Sky/You Tube.

I agree. Many of us here took this as a token gesture to appease the content owners, but I think its now BAU. Its probably resolved 100% of 90% of the populous, as its too techie or a PITB.

And from practical perspective it won't stay that way for long.

well, i must say for the first time ever, tonight I get the dreaded "you seem to be using an unblocker or proxy. Please turn off any of these services and try again. For more help, visit netflix.com/proxy" message despite using destination nat translation to force google and opendns lookups to unotelly.

Looks like there has been another dance of Netflix blacklisting untotelly endpoints (Unotelly says they have a higher than normal number of complaints!).

From a practical viewpoint, I'd say we are well and truly screwed using commercial unblocking services - the only way might be to establish a cluster of off shore based proxies that can be load balanced against on a public cloud service - as netflix will be going after the providers (as its too tricky and unreliable to go after individuals IMHO), but it quickly becomes too hard and too costly;

I don't want to discuss this stuff in a private forum as I believe the way to defeat these services is to discuss the options publicly and utilise the combined brainpower of everyone rather than a closed group.

Even though its interesting working around all these things, from a family perspective it quickly becomes a time waster and too tedious.

I may go back to the Plex library after all.

Even on Spotify recently I found a load of Sony albums I wanted to listen to disappeared for no good reason other than a small issue of us$30 million royalties. Yeah I think I'm over streaming - its an unreliable pointless way of consuming media that detracts from the enjoyment.

I think i might dust down the CDs and get the betamax out - atleast that way I can watch what i want when i want on devices of my choosing without paying yet another monthly fee.

Are there any blogs that go into detail on how netflix has been blocking recently and the new types of restrictions they have introduced?

Hey Fellow Geo-Blockers...

Just wondering what everyones latest experiences with Netflix and GeoBlocking is.  I use GetFlix and ATV3.  I can switch regions from the Netflix homepage and pick one of the USA options (I see they now show "test" as an option) but 99.9% of the content i choose to watch comes up with thee 139 error message.  Any ideas what cause the ATV3 139 error message?  Is it Apple's version of the "your using a proxy" message?

Is there anyone out there who use Getflix, or UnoTelly and Apple TV3 and getting unrestricted US Netflix content??

Getflix and unotelly no longer work for me, so far no other options i have tried are working. NZ netlfix absolutely sucks

No problem with Getflix - still able to watch Futurama, etc.

Just got a proxy detected message and blocked by Netflix while accessing the Sweden region via Unotelly. :(
