I am excited about it. Having Alexa in there is going to be epic! I have Darbee on my Blu-Ray player so I don't expect much improvement in that regard to picture quality, but still.

I had a quick look through but can't find the page that described how to get ITV working on the FireTV? Is it the BBC iPlayer?

Ooh, wonder if I can buy another year on top of the year I have paid for already, in advance.

Nope: it says on the page it's only for the first year of the membership.

That's a shame! I did consider buying it from another account and gifting it, but maybe not.

Apparently you can GIFT the membership, so if you have another Amazon account this could work.

I get good enough value from Amazon I wouldn't stiff them for $30, by doing this.

Thanks for this - tempted, but...

What's the usability and quality of Amazon Prime video airplayed to the TV by iPad?

Is it like the Lightbox app was (is?) in that the app needed to remain to the foreground and the screen on? Or does it function as well as say BBC iPlayer?

While we've got a Amazon Fire TV, that's for the kids' TV, whereas the HT has an Apple TV (and a HTPC, but I'd rather avoid using a browser to play it - unless there's some Kodi plug-in or similar?). So to make it worthwhile we'd need to easily use Amazon Prime on our own TV.

I could not get the ITV app, the STV player app nor the TVPlayer app to stream.

To get ITV working, I sideloaded Kodi, and installed the SuperRepo plugin. From there I used the SportsDevil -- LiveTV -- Filmon -- ITV.

There is an ITV plugin for Kodi but it pixelates often. The above plugin via SportsDevil and Filmon streams fine. Not HD but good enough to enjoy the game properly.

I used dns4me to get around the geo-blocking. Watched Scotland vs Japan this morning with no problems. Enjoy.

I actually got it working. I found a link to the iTV APK and sideloaded it, works fine, but your really need a mouse because it's pretty much a website. Watching some replays. The occasional buffering and the quality is average compared to HD, but audio was good.

ITV will soon have its own app for the Fire Tv according to this source http://www.engadget.com/2015/09/23/itv-website-player-hub/.  Not clear on if its just demand or demand and live tv.

Won't arrive in time for me sadly, as I wanted it for my FIL for the RWC.

It's incredibly ad heavy!
