I heard on Nat Rad in the weekend that HBO is to offer a widely-available VOD-only service (as opposed to online access to cable subscribers, as currently) from next year.

This could be good news for those who want (legal) access to HBO content but don't want to pay hefty Sky fees, provided of course that there are similar ways for us to access it, a la Netflix. (I remember it was pointed out one Scandinavian country had an HBO site that offered VOD, but is this easily accessible by those in countries like NZ?).
