On NBR there's a (paywalled) report about Quickflix trading halt amid talks of a sale.

I am not surprised.

I am actually surprised that they last this long... (I have bunch of free quickflix 30 day trial - tried once and cancel within few hours)

But seriously, who would actually buy it

,

a) What are you getting for your money

and

b) Who is mad enough to stand in front of the Netflix Juggernaut

Weird that the article is paywalled.

As it was all purely speculation on if it's being sold or not and to who. As the title indicates it's currently on a trading halt. How about some actual news in there, worth paying for.

It's been updated to "Quickflix partners with Foxtel's Presto"

Their 100,000 odd customer database may be worth something, plus if they have any exclusive agreements for VOD material, then there may be some value in buying the company.

Ofcourse, the buyers could simply sit back and wait for investors to get sick of throwing money down a big bottomless pit and get the company for a song when the liquidators / receivers are called in, but if / when it gets to that stage, the value in customer lists and contracts may have diminished markedly by then.

Actually their device support is what most potential buyers would be interested in, esp lightbox surely, who has pretty average device support till now.
