I'm looking into a streaming service.

My requirement is for something with the same or similar content to TCL, Food TV and Living Channel.

Crafts and cooking basically.

Currently we get this from Sky which is fine but is there a better way?

Looked into Igloo but it isn't practical as another requirement is either easy recording (yeah, I know you can record Igloo but it's a pain) or On Demand.

Any ideas? My understanding is that the Freeview options here are limited.

Didn't anybody tell you I was a hacker?

It'd probably depend on show.

I know some of the UK based shows are on the broadcasters directly (BBC/ITV/Channel 4), unsure about the US based shows.

So you could look at an dns type service(unblock us, unotelly etc) and go trolling through the broadcasters for the individual shows. There's a food TV network as well in the US I thought? But the US tends to limit stuff like that to people with a cable connection.

UK service TVPlayer has a Plus subscription for GPB5 per month which gives access to loads of lifestyle channels. https://tvplayer.com/channels/ You just need a geo-unblocker that works with that service, such as UnoTelly. I am going to sign up for it once I cancel Willow TV - it has an app for the new Apple TV, and I am using the free version of it already (which has fewer channels available).

I find Choice TV on Freeview good for that sort of content, too. I was a Living Channel junkie until I got rid of Sky (it was about the only channel I watched) but I don't miss it with a combo of Choice TV and UK's Channel 4 via the PS3 app.
