Hi,

I have a WDTV Live (3rd Gen). I have it in my bedroom for the sole purpose of watching standard NZ Netflix. It very seldom gets used, and before last night probably hadn't watched anything on it for a couple of months.

Last night I watched Wreck-It Ralph on it, and throughout the movie there were multiple instances of video artifacting. The best I can describe it is when a shot changes, the screen didn't always properly refresh - you could see a still image of the last shot but also make out the outline of the current shot. After a few seconds it would come right.

They no longer release new firmware for this device, and I am currently running 2.01.86 (as the lastest version which came after that constantly caused the remote to become unresponsive).

I am on 100/20 UFB and have other devices in the house for streaming Netflix which have never experienced this issue. House is cabled with CAT 6.

Does anyone else have one of these that the use for Netflix, and if so, are you experiencing similar?

Oh wow, the actually have just last month released a firmware update. I was sure I read that they were not releasing any more for the 3rd gen devices, and it has been nearly 2 years since the last one.

Might have to try it tonight!

You should double check the change log, as they removed support for a lot of apps, and only added a few. I'm running the same firmware as you, but no Netflix sorry so cannot test it.

Yeah, they've dropped quite a few apps, but Netflix isn't listed. I can always roll back again if need be.
