I have installed the CW network app on my fire TV, and it opens the CW main menu showing all the shows fine, but if I try to watch any program I get an error "there was an error playing this program" (something like this). My fire TV is connected with a network cable to my router and all other apps work fine. I use dns4me for my fire TV and router settings.

Has anyone else tried this app, and have you got it to work?

Does a browser work?  Quite often a browser will use one provider (like akami, or brightcove) and devices might use another.

Also have you checked that dns4me has the CW on there not conflicting with another option you use, like the local ones?

Thanks Davidcole for the reply, I have just tried watching through my browser and it works fine. On dns4me settings, the CW network is selected and USA as country (only choice).

I am not sure what you mean about "conflicting with another option"

Scroll down through you're Dns4me sevices and look for the yellow ones.  If you mouse over those they'll say something like "if you enabled this then xyz service may not work"

So without knowing how the device gets to CW (and assuming by the fact the browser works that it takes a different path), you might need to ask dns4me.  I should look if there's an Apple tv 4 channel and see if it works, but that doesn't mean its also the same path as a fire tv.

I have unticked all the highlighted in yellow on dns4me and tried again on the fire tv, but I still get the same error when I actually try and play an episode "an error occured during playback".
