Currently I have Chromecast, the 2013 version, which is great for YouTube and so on.

However I want to play videos and the like from my tablet to the big TV screen. I heard Miracast might do it. Looking around they are different types with varying prices.

What would you recommend that's not too expensive but doesn't suck, performance-wise? Or is there a way to do with Chromecast? I know there are video players that use Chromecast, but they have a subscription cost, unless someone knows of one which is free.
