Since I have had Netflix and watch more on demand stuff my average monthly usage has gone from about 60GB per month to around 120GB per month. Having the step daughter home at the moment has jumped that up to 200 GB per month. It doesn't seem that long ago that usage like that would have classed you as a heavy user. Streaming has altered that considerably. I was just curious what other users average monthly use is. I'm guessing a family or flatting situation is going to make my data usage at the low end of the scale.

Ours is pretty variable, anywhere from 250GB to 550GB looking at the last few months.

My flat (2 of us) can use a TB+ in a month, but we stream everything from music to games. Flatmate also works from home.

Mine's probably in excess of 100 GB/month, but I don't have any sort of logging set up so can't confirm that. It'd be interesting to see some actual stats to see how accurate my guess is!

Edit: Apparently I've downloaded 91 GB since I last rebooted 13 days ago. Some of that will be within my own network, but the vast majority would be Internet usage. Add in my PS4 and it looks like I'd easily hit 200 GB in a month.

Your query fits my billing cycle perfectly.

In 2008, using a 1Mbps ADSL, 3GB p/m was enough

In 2009 with 10+MBps ADSL, 30GB p/m was common for us.

In 2017, see image above. That's with 4 people. 1 constant gamer & 1 or 2 music streams & average usage of Netflix & heavy usage of downloads.

Last time I checked, 834GB down, and 29GB up.

Most of our TV viewing is streamed these days, often with two TVs streaming at once. I listen primarily to Spotify during work hours, and the kids are voracious consumers of YouTube.

We are on RBI with a data cap of 120 GB and variable streaming quality. Since I live with someone who thinks anything more than pressing a button on the Sky remote is too difficult, our data usage stays way under our cap. I keep looking forward to an all-streaming future, but that still seems a long way off.

We tend to use about 400-700GB a month.

I've noticed lightbox is a fairly big user of the data about 2gb for 3 mins? (on a 100mbps ufb connection)

Most of our viewing is streamed from about 8pm each night...before then broadcast is used for the chase/news/seven sharp during and around homework/dinner time as background noise.

Annoyingly this doesn't breakout Lightbox...and I couldn't communicate with unifi to add LB as a known site.

300 - 500G a month depending on if School Holidays or note.

Netflix
TV on Demand
Spotify
Minecraft/BF1

are the main causes of Data use in our house at the moment.

Then again my parents (in 70s) use 10G a month if they are very lucky.

I suspect users of this site are greater than most.

Also the younger the user the more the usage (people with Kids and students flatting I am looking at you...)

whoa, no idea how much I used. but ranges between 1.5TB to 4.5TB a month looks like.

with some days about 380GB in one day.....

UPDATE: 380 was nothing, another day I downloaded 534GB....

House A: 1 Adult, 3 kids, +me roughly one weekend in three, ~4-600GB / month mainly youtube.

House B: 3 adults, 1-2tb / month, mix of torrents, youtube, and other streaming sites.

I changed to BigPipe this month and after reading this discovered that BigPipe do not provide usage data because they have no cap so it doesn't matter.

Spark had this mindset also for a while. It was there, but pretty hidden. Its now easier. But long ago I got in the habit of recording it myself off of my router.
