I usually sit down to watch One News on my AppleTV 4K at about 6:30pm so its already started. Am I missing something or is the only way to start the show from the beginning to rewind all the way back to the start which is a very slow process and involves pressing the left side of the remote the whole time. I note on BBC iPlayer when looking at a live stream there is an option to start from the beginning of the program. Is that to much to ask?

Not sure asking here will help. Raise it with them as a suggestion. Sounds like a good feature (that should be obvious really). So they might be able to implement it easily.

How long after the broadcast starts before it appears on the TVNZ website?  The bulletin gets put up relatively quickly from what I can tell (and the "live" version lasts until midnight).  The edited version (sans broadcast advertisements hangs around for 4 days).

Are you confusing the OnDemand version with the livestream?

Weirdly even the iphone app has no way of scrubbing backwards on a live stream.

Dont goto live stream if you want to scrub back.

Simply click on On Demand, then News or TV1, click on the news program, scroll down to see the first listing (which will be the one in progress live), click on that, click on "watch from begggining".

On demand avalible a few minutes after 6pm starts.   Live stream is usless, always buffers/stops/jams.

It appears at the same time the live stream starts. So you can either start watching by just going to Live TV or you can go to One News and start it there. The problem is you can't start it from. the begining of the stream until after 7:30 as they live stream the news and 7 Sharp as a single program. Other providers like BBC provide a "start from beginning" feature but not TVNZ.

I disagree with not being able to start from the beginning comment. Ok so I don’t use Apple TV, but watching via safari. The on demand version shows up within 10-15 mins after 6pm and you can choose to watch from start or watch live.

You need to first select via ‘on demand’ menu, then navigate to the 6pm news, then ignore the large option at the top of the screen and goto the first in episode in the list.

Again, unsure if that’s an option via Apple TV.

Edit: I do this daily about 6:10pm,

Thanks for the unlock...

Anyone else having issues with this again?

i.e. goto live TV page and the watch from start isn’t available as it used to be?  And also issues with ad breaks Via on demand content where they just get stuck on the advert intermission and not begin the next ‘chapter’ as it were....

TVNZ, but am having issues with 3now too.... it suddenly stops the live stream (gets confusing because the ad breaks are just a static screen).

You can rewind it to the beginning on the Apple TV thats how we watch it. As said open it via the OnDemand and select 1News and the latest one. You'll need to do this after 6 PM otherwise it wont be there. Add to favourites for fast access.

You can on the Apple TV Now?   I noticed the other day on the iPad app it asked me if I wanted to start at the beginning or Live.  But then I Airplayed it.  Does it also ask you with Apple TV now as well?

We've been watching it on the AppleTV like this for over a year I think. It wont prompt you to start from the beginning it will start at the live point. You just use the remote to scrub back to the beginning.

Last couple of days TVNZ complains I'm not in NZ when I first try to stream a program. Force Refresh in the browser fixes this, but there must be some odd CDN issues upstream.

I start the news from the beginning regularly by going to the show via On-Demand and they selecting play from start.
