I’ve got an Android tv box (Amlogic S905).
It says that it can run 4K, but it doesn’t really show that it does (certainly doesn’t look like 4K, when I run in Kodi.
I’m planning on buying a Sony Android TV.
My question is: Can I run 4K in Kodi on a Sony Android TV?

Do you have a 4k capable HDMI cable?

Haha, didn’t even know this was required.
Shows the low level of knowledge that I have.
I just have a standard HDMI cable. Don’t know if it’s 4K capable. How do I find out?

does your tv show the resolution of the source when plugged in?

can you manually set the output of the media player to 1080p or 4k? what happens?

but as above the cable can play a part in it.

You need a HDMI 1.4 cable or above.
