Hi.

When we watch Modern family on Disney plus on the Shield TV pro, the audio keeps getting out of sync, which requires us to exit the current episode, and play it again which does resolve it. Seems to be worse if we pause and resume for any reason.

Annoyingly, when you exit an episode, it defaults to the episode prior, which if you don't pay attention means it starts the wrong episode. Quite frustrating.

Any ideas?

If you've got a clean boot device and other methods (Chromecast?) work, then the app itself is clearly to blame.

Seems to be a symptom of poor coding and/or low-spec hardware that can't keep up with decoding.

pretty sure the Shield Pro wouldn't fall into this category
As far as android TV devices go it has a reputation as being one of the better ones.

Can you connect Ethernet for a while and see if it helps?

Next step maybe one of those $1000 HDMI cables? 😜 I'd have thought the video and audio is interleaved so the transport shouldn't be important... but I don't really know.

I am pretty confident it's not a bandwidth issue, I have about 8 streaming apps, Disney is the only one with an issue.
