sweet. $10/month is a good price!
Are Kordia aware you have partnered with Quickflix? They seem to think it won't do too well!!

http://www.kordia.co.nz/_blog/Kordia_Blog/post/QuickFlix_Entering_New_Zealand_Market/

"I think QuickFlix will also struggle in NZ (due to Sky?s dominance) but their entry will spur Sky to enable further streaming and Video on Demand services and a larger more up to date catalogue on MySkyHDi and Igloo which will be good for NZ consumers. NZ ISPs will also benefit from the extra traffic."

$10 vs the $80+ Sky charges ? Yeah, it wont do well.... ;)

OK, we need to see the line up etc that Quickflix will offer first, but pretty sure Ill be signing up.

Just be careful folks, as this has a caveat: I've just received the press release and it seems Orcon will unmeter Quickflix from 1st May. Anything you use before that will be metered.

Have you seen what they offer - not much - old movies seem unlimited but new releases cost $6.99 per view and they only offer a handful of tv series

Sky has most of the new movies and new TV shows under contract so Quickfix must be limited to what they can screen

Common sense is not as common as you think.

TV lineup looks a little thin, but I've signed, it either gets better, or I'll bin it - there does not appear to be a fixed contract according to my read of the Ts&Cs

In order to get the right answer, one must ask the right question

According to FAQ you can cancel pretty much anytime with no penalty etc.

They do have access to BBC's library apparently, but limited on HBO due to Sky - but HOBO have a share in Quickflix, so can see it changing when Skys contract is up for re-newal.

Just checked Sony Bravia models in list on Sony website for Quickflix and our model not listed KDL40V5500 - must need a more modern internet-ready TV although ours worked well with Caspa and Tivo ..

And there is the problem in NZ.  Except for the PC option everything else is modern Sony based.  No other hardware vendors don't get a look in at present.  I have a 6 month old Panasonic BD player but looks like it's not on their list.. I'm not upgrading my TV , buying a PS3  or a Sony BD player..
