do not need to keep records of customers to enable contact tracing.

Based on what I’m seeing locally, we are at L1. I’ve never seen the contract app being used or even referred to. People in shops are doing whatever they like. etc.

Only site I have found the official notice that worked with the official app was PB Tech. That worked fine but they said you don't need that just go in. They had someone limiting numbers one out one in etc

I've stopped in to two different cafes/fast food outlets in the last few days to pick up lunch while at work. Neither displayed a QR code, both just had a paper register and bottle of sanitiser at the door.

There was no enforcement over the paper register. Many people walked past it or scrawled something illegible in the book.

However, in flicking back a few pages I noted that Donald Duck, Lady Gaga and Freddie Mercury have all eaten lunch in the Oporto Manukau in recent days!

Similarly, my wife and I had a coffee date (it seems such a long time ago since we last did that) in Takapuna and we also missed the register on the way in, but were served and enjoyed our drinks/food. On leaving we noticed the register and completed it as best we could, sanitising on the way out - I also tried to scan the QR code but it was for another app altogether so was completely useless.

ONE STANDARD. That's all we need.

That matches my admittedly very ad hoc informal survey that the only places with the MoH QR code up are places with IT people on staff.

Is there any way to get feedback to the MoH/government to tell them "this is completely broken, you need to fix it"?

Rippl can now read the MBIE NZBN QR codes, But..... the MoH app will not be modified to read Rippl ones...

so it certainly looks like Rippl might be the app to use in Wellington for now.

We've got halfway there, following an update released overnight, Rippl's app can now be used to scan posters created for the NZ Covid Tracer app.

And that's as far as we'll go, on the scanning front. A spokesman for the Ministry of Health says there are no plans for its NZ Covid Tracer app to get the ability to scan posters created for other apps. As thought, custom ID header. But seems to be encrypted/encoded info. Wonder how rippl got round that or if they just tag the scan with gps/maps locale after dropping all after the ID/type

In my limited roaming, KMart in Porirua had the official MoH QR codes at the entrance and the security guard there was instructing people to scan the codes. The eateries in the food court seemed to be relying on books but not mandating people sign in.

I wish there was one standard to rule them all...

I've now checked in to places with the MoH app, Rippl, DuckIn, ImHere, Covidregister, a Google Form, an Office 365 form and a paper register.

The only place with the MoH QR code was my office, and we are already doing tracing with our ID cards swiped to open the door.
