TeaLeaf:
Just shows the variance in initial side effects, which is why Im trying not to buy into any singular experience.
I am sure we have all had many injections - I have had Hep A, Heb B (and possibly C I can't recall), Rabies, Yellow Fever, Japanese Encephalitis, Typhoid, Tetanus, Flu and probably a few others within the past 10 years.
Side effects have varied from none at all to feeling a bit lethargic to feeling a bit crook for a few days.
I had a sore arm after C19 jab 1 and felt a bit lethargic for a couple of days. C19 jab 2 produced no effect at all except a tiny amount of localised discomfort for a day around the injection site.
I am not sure that side effects or lack thereof are any indicator of the efficacy of any vaccination. When I have needed to check whether boosters are needed, bloodwork is always required.

People going coocoo for Maccas and KFC today. Lineup @ Maccas Frankton, Hamilton was spilling onto SH1.
Maybe we should vaccinate as they collect their take aways?
Free Voucher for 1x Big Mac or 3x Wicked Wings with every vaccination.

Looks like Stuart Nash is going to lose a bet. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/covid-19-coronavirus-delta-outbreak-labour-mp-stuart-nash-bets-case-of-wine-on-90-per-cent-of-kiwis-being-vaccinated-by-christmas/S7WYCZ3QFH53SCMYUW3I24XPQY/
There's almost a week between "Christmas" (Herald headline) and "the end of the year" (in Herald article).
But yeah - risky to bet that <10% of the population aren't morons.
Basically no chance that an approval comes though for babies under 6mo before the end of the year given the lack of trails for that age group.
That's about 0.7% of the population.
Surveys have about 7% of the population that is strongly opposed to the covid-19 vaccine.
And I would pick that there will be at least 15% of the population that arn't strongly opposed, but havn't got it yet for vairous reasons... - Havn't got around to it, transport difficulties etc.
Must be a handfull of people that aren't medically recommended to have the vaccine too. For example those who are so elderly and frail that the side effects pose a serious risk to their health...
We will have done super well to cross 75% by Christmas...

Yep had those plus; cholera, tetanus and diphtheria, meningococcal, pertussis. polio, pneumococcal and finally shingles. Most of mine I had whilst as a kids nurse in Australia and we have done a lot of Asian travel so we loaded up for that. Not Chickenpox though cause I had a dose when I was kid and it didn't become a widely available vaccine till the 1990's. I have also had the Dengue Fever Vaccine as discussed by Fred99 way early in this Topic And the worse reaction I have ever had with any jab is a slight localised site discomfort.
Just remember adults do not need to take panadol or nurofen pre or post jab as this will lower the efficacy of the bodies reaction and acceptance of the vaccine. We want the anti-inflammatory response.
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
75 cases. 74 in Auckland and 1 in Wellington. One person returned 3 negative tests then tested positive on their forth test and was asymptomatic.
40 supermarkets to be added to the LOI today. Considered to be low risk.
No unexpected waste water results. First time since 19th August waste water from West Auckland has tested negative.

Good. When they were at about the 500 level, only 21 LOI's were involved in transmission, that's masks and 2 metres producing results
Finally fixing the dog's breakfast voucher booking system after months of insisting it was fine and no one was gaming the system.

TeaLeaf:old3eyes:Was the pain similar to any other major injections you have had before? It sounds to me like that dead leg type pain, the muscle is accepting a lot. A localised muscle ache etc. Just shows the variance in initial side effects, which is why Im trying not to buy into any singular experience. Hopefully we get a 3rd booster/variant relatively quickly like the Sinvac is claiming (2 months potentially is what I saw on youtube from them).
Had my first jab some weeks ago. Next day sore arm, headache, and no getup and go. Had second one yesterday. Sore arm but that was all . None of the effects of the first one.
Sweet cheesus.
Has anyone had Benzathine benzylpenicillin on the arm or buttocks before?
If you had, you wouldn't complain of this one.
No pain here. At all.

We're not out of the woods or has the Wellington person been isolating while infectious? Seed from Auckland or local transmission?
Household contact in isolation, as posted above they got a few negative tests then this positive.
