Fair enough, I certainly wouldn't want to in that situation either.

I am not the best. The last available medication to treat my condition(s) has failed and I need to stop taking it due to adverse side affects. That leaves a very dark prognosis. So much for 2023.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

I am very sorry to hear that. I wish I had a solution.

I have found during my darkest times, breaking my dark moments into smaller chunks can help make it a little more bearable. Do you have something you can use to distract yourself? I must admit I spent a lot of time playing computer games in the last 6 months.

Thanks I really appreciate that.

I am also sorry to hear it Mike. You are a bright spot here and I enjoy your thoughtful posts. You sort of act like a Geekzone conscience. Your friends and family are there for you. Take what strength you can from them. For what it's worth, you have my very best wishes. Feel free to PM me if you ever want to.

Thank you, really appreciated.

It is going to get harder to keep up with events here and my thoughts are going to get dulled and scrambled as pain control kicks in.

Thank you for that, I really appreciate it. I try to think it will pass but options now are only about symptom treatment and pain management. There is no cure.

Hoping to hear back about a job opportunity I emailed about on a whim and got an interview for without even actually properly applying for it. Given we are selling our house and navigating the offer process on what I hope is our next one, I want to get all this upheaval out of the way in one go so we can have a period of  calm to enjoy things once they're sorted.

Starting to appreciate that just because I can get up every day and go to work and keep slogging away while we deal with one thing after another, that doesn't mean it's actually good for me or the right thing for my mental health, career or my family.

Best thing I ever did was move on from a fairly well-paid, but ultimately terrible job. 2.5 years of my life, with the most stress I have ever endured feels like a distant memory now.

I have a great boss, his boss is great and the culture of my current workplace is one of "people first". I earn a significant amount less, but it doesn't stress us out.

Good luck with the house(s) and job.

I have a friend in similar situation and the kids bought him a 1000 piece Jigsaw puzzle with a proper folding puzzle board so it can be tucked away. It takes his mind off the problem and he finds it very relaxing using it in short bursts. Hope you find distractions to quell the pain.

I don't want to use the phrase this week but there really isn't a better one: when it rains it pours.

- Got asked back for a 2nd interview, had that this week.

- We got an offer on the house after the first open home. They came up to a really great number with minimal conditions so the move is on by the look of it.

- The house didn't sustain any damage in the winds. The repairs and tidy-ups we did (Saturday night on the roof checking gutters) meant we had no water-related issues.

@GV27 Every cloud has a silver lining might be more appropriate. So glad to hear things are looking up for you and your family. So many people are doing it tough now that it’s uplifting to hear some success stories and positive news.

When you become old these will be the stories you will relate to your grandchildren as you try to ease them through their own rock strewn road. No matter how bad things appear at the time, memories fade and the disasters never seem as bad or important looking back.

Best wishes for this good streak to continue.

Things are a grind at the moment.

Miss 11 hasn’t been able to go to school for a couple of weeks with migraine type symptoms. Medication is helping a bit but she’s really fatigued and it’s difficult watching her struggle. She had an MRI yesterday so we’ll see if that shows anything.

My wife also missed out on a promotion at work this week and had a job offer fell through yesterday.

It’ll get better and work out but I’m looking forward to this week being over.

Sorry to hear about the child. Could be the worry of going to the next level at school. I know mine has been fretting a lot about this. Am sure the health care there is great so best wishes the MRI is clear. It’s worrying when everything arrives in bunches and someone has to show strength while worrying and feeling weak at the knees. Look forward to hearing good news about the child.
