Yeah that's what I was shooting at. The 1st 90s is a nice to see. But it's not a guarantee or the eyed target. The followups that are important. 'When the DHBs reach 90% FULL vaccination' aka doubles.

CDHB...

74% 75,066

Suddenly we're going to be the holdup

Until you look at what it was last week,

24th October Canterbury DHB , 2nd doses 67%    111,826 until 90%....

35K a week isn't to be sneezed at....

They are now updating all the DHB data daily

CMDHB is just under 4K doses shy of 90%, (1st) -  down 800 on yesterday , so at that rate they are about a week from hitting the target...

Then its on to 2nds...

Not sure which map you are looking at, but that's firsts I take it? It's not the important number the govt are chasing. The requirement for release is the Full/2nd @ 90.

So ~3-6 weeks later than the 1st mark (If EVERYONE follows through once hit)

Stuff published some projected dates for 90% double vaxxed on the 29 of Oct based on rolling daily averages.
Good a guess as any of when each DHB will hit it's target.

They might even have the Vaccine certificates ready to go and launch the traffic light system in Auckland for the last week of November.

Wonder how much slippage there is there, given the follow-through on 1st vaccines isn't 100% as we know.

I've seen community comment (and I think a press story too) of people basically saying 'I won't be getting a 2nd one!'

Presumably thinking 1 is enough, or claiming some form of feeling after the fact outside the standard reactions and blaming the jab as cause. (No doubt without logging it with the appropriate methods of reporting adverse effects or seeking medical advise.)

One of them claimed they had random stomach pains, acute numbness down one side, chest issues and noone knew why.. However went quiet when asked if they had reported it. That spurred all sorts of 'the media don't report the bad reactions and deaths anyway' fail train.

Things are going to get inconvenient for the unvaccinated soon.

I suspect trains, buses, taxis, aircraft etc will become the domain of the vaccinated only.

Wouldn't public transport be considered essential services? In the UK train use is still apparently down about 50%, despite some people going to the media saying the rest of the world is almost back to normal.

Yep, Just wondering how a taxi/uber driver going to check a vaccine cert is legit. Or will some even bother if its hassle.

They can't/wont ever mandate vaccination certs for public transport (at least trains/buses/etc). What if you needed PT to go get vaccinated? etc.
