Time to make it law to have your kids vaccinated?
Why?
If your kids are vaccinated.. then you've got nothing to worry about right?
I mean if we're going to force things on people.. there's a very large list that goes in front of that one.. don't you think?
No.
I like to compare anti-vaxxers to car drivers:
- if one does not get the licence and drives (presumably person learned to drive), it's minor threat to others on the road
- if all would drive without license and let's hope some of them learned to drive - major threat to all road users
At either cases, chances of death got exponentially higher when compared to all drivers who learned to drive and got a licence to drive.

The anti vax brigade tend to rely on the study done a few years ago that linked vaccination to autism .
The guy that wrote that study, happened to have just patented a single dose vaccine. Unsurprisingly, his study recommended people use his single dose vaccine (as opposed to multi dose vaccines!!). He was a crook, in it for the money only. But, anti -vaxxers believe what they want to believe.
This is the study they should be reading...

Coil:@hio77 and most others reckon I am super Autistic but that is probably not from my first set of vaccinations.

After spending a few days on the drip (to hydrate her) she was allowed to go home.. the anti nausea pills they gave her clearly in big bold letters " DO NOT GIVE TO PREGNANT OR LACTATING WOMEN"..
the doctor said to ignore that.. it's ok.. what do you do? trust who?
So I went home.. gave her a big fat cone.. she had a feed.. drunk heaps of water and went to sleep.. next day.. back to normal..
From then on.. a cone a day kept the doctor away..
You gave your pregnant wife cannabis as an alternative treatment to an off-label prescription from a doctor for hyperemesis (morning sickness) severe enough to require hospitalisation?
WTF?

There is nothing wrong with that, it also worked. WTF how did this work is what you should be asking.
Cannabis is the sole thing that prevents me from getting sea sick. Nothing else has ever worked, even been to the doctors for it and had offshore prescriptions given to me from friends and family and no luck.
WTF all right!

You're damn right I did.. and I'd do it again in a second if I thought she needed it..
And.. 12 years later there's no side affects to my son.. who by the way is the top of his class which is the enrichment class.. (aka top 10% of his school)..
She is my best friend.. and if she needed needed help.. I'd rob a bank to pay for it if I had to..
gave her a big fat cone..

Oh yes there is something very seriously wrong. There's absolutely no proof "it worked" except an anecdote, and instead of a known risk (for something like Ondansetron) considered by a medical professional, the OP elected to administer something psychoactive with an unknown but very probable risk of harm to the unborn child.
It's a very very stupid thing to do.

Comments like this make me reconsider my support for full marijuana legalisation.

Sorry.. but that's a load of ....
There's no proven risk.. and there are no known side effects (other than being high and hungry)..
Yes you shouldn't drive while stoned etc etc.. I'm not promoting that..
But in clear bold writing there was a warning advising us not to give it to her..
And you say a medical professional's opinion on the drugs a pharmaceutical company make and warn not to take in those circumstances is a wise idea?
Come on.. even if you don't like it.. there is proof it worked.. she was not sick once after that.. she was never re-admitted to hospital..
No side effects to her or our child.. in fact he's bright, positive, happy and is a hell of an amazing kid..
She could eat and drink water without throwing it all up..

People get over stuff anyway - especially morning sickness, hence a huge range of quack remedies and folk law "cures" that some people think "work".
What you did was stupid and illegal.

No.. what I did was save my wife from morning sickness that lasts the whole pregnancy with her.. the whole time if she didn't she'd be sick all day..
That's not stupid.. the idea that doing something rather than nothing is the best thing I could have done..
I understand your ignorance towards it.. not looking for your opinion.. just stating facts!!

No you didn't. You rejected probably appropriate medical advice and treatment because you thought you knew better, and chose to do administer to your wife an (illegal) drug of unknown strength, purity, and efficacy, for which you're as ignorant as anybody else as to the possibility of side effects to an unborn child.
And you're accusing me of "ignorance".
Clueless and yet dangerously advocating something incredibly dumb on a public forum.
