Weren't many close contacts tested as negative? Given the zero CT here you would expect he was infected at Singapore.
Flatties and Flight contacts. Yep.
But the big whathe.. is the 6hr stop, with positive on arrival. For something that is meant to have a 4+ day no-show incubation
Well, that money didn't last long. No wonder they want user pays.
Guess the hotels won't be folding so quick as they first thought
$5700pp (akl) vs the estimated.. $3100?

"Auckland to Sydney passenger tests Covid-19 positive"
A person who flew from Auckland to Sydney this month has tested positive for Covid-19.
Air New Zealand flight NZ103 touched down in the Australian city on July 6 and has since been reported by New South Wales health officials as having a confirmed case of coronavirus on board.
The NSW Health website lists several seat rows as being close contacts of the confirmed case.
The case had led New Zealand health officials to now test household and other contacts of the passenger here in Auckland.
A ministry spokeswoman said health officials in New Zealand had also made contact with the passenger, media outlet Stuff reported.
"At this point, it appears the person may have been a previously unconfirmed case from March and this is responsible for the positive test result," she said.

What are you getting at with this statement? Or is it just casting a bit of FUD?

I also saw mention of another traveler tonight, that traveled from NZ to Australia, and has now tested positive.https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/coronavirus/122317608/coronavirus-person-on-flight-from-auckland-to-sydney-tested-positive-for-covid19-in-australia . I hope we don't have a low level amount of community transmission occurring, due to not enough testing occurring in the community. It mentions they may have been an unconfirmed case in March, but if that is the case, why would they test positive in July?
Because cold and flu are more common now it is winter, many people may just think they have a cold or flu. Complacency and lack of testing potentially could ruin all of NZs gains, because we certainly should have been doing a lot more community testing than we have been doing. Plus I think they made an error in tightening up the testing requirements, because we didn't really want to reducing the amount of testing being done.
Second Covid-19 positive case on Auckland to Sydney flight (that we know of?)

nah just uncertainty.
you see these fellas that apparently step on a plane in NZ and step off a plane elsewhere and apparently test positive for covid -
either
- all those tests were false positive
- they all breathe in other people's droplets into their nostrils during transit
- they are all old dead viruses
- the virus in NZ somewhere
- something else
can anyone here say for certainty which one it is? how many tests have we done in NZ in recent times?

Should we bring in forced testing?
