sidders80:Thanks to everyone for their feedback. We have decided to go with Nissan.

dickytim:We had an x-trail rental in Melbourne and it was bloody awful.
The spec was bad, the trans was bad, and the economy was not as good as a CX-5.
I test drove the 2017 New CX-5 and it was a very impressive car. I would have purchased it on the spot but the minister of finance wouldn't let me.
The Mazda has miles better features than the X-Trail and is an exceptionally nice car to drive.
Also note the extra warranty and scheduled servicing will add up to well over $4000 value.
Then there is the looks of the new CX-5.... Wow!

I had the last boxy version of the x trail. average fuel use in hilly town - 16.5L/100ks. Average fuel use on the open road - 10.5L/100ks. Also was pretty gutless. sold it after 3 years (bought new), that car cured my car itch, went back to old secondhand cars after that.
I gather they did some magic with the new curvy model.
Personally loving the CX-5 - but I'll be interested to hear how you go with the Nissan for future reference.

Which fuel is best for Nissan X-Trail? I recently got 2009 model & bit confused about which fuel to use. After researching alot in the internet , found that 91 RON is the suitable fuel for this SUV. Any suggestions in this? Also which retailer's fuel suits well?
Thanks

The manual or fuel cap will tell which fuel to put in...as you say it will almost certainly be 91 for that engine.
You will get no discernible benefit from using anything higher and all retailers fuel will be the same in terms of performance etc, despite what their adverts may have you believe!
Buy whatever the cheapest 91 is from any of the major fuel companies and you will do just fine.
Thank for the info. you saved me from alot of confusions. :D
