It’s interesting to see that the above article also uses the word “unbeatable” when describing the fuel efficiency of the Nissan Note e-Power. There is a heading in the article that reads “unbeatable fuel efficiency of 34.0 km /l.”
So, the dealer is not alone with this view and I think it's taking a rather narrow view to dig around and try and disprove that the fuel efficiency of the e-Power is not "unbeatable" when it really is quite remarkable and amazing! I think the dealer was probably influenced by articles such as the one quoted above and I don't think the advertisement was deliberately designed to mislead anyone. In any event, nobody could possibly suffer any financial loss or harm as a result of relying on the advertisement (IMHO)!
And the dealer uses the same logo about EVs on all its advertisements, so you could say that using this logo on its BMW i3 range extender advertisements is also misleading because the i3 REX also has a petrol tank. If you are really concerned about the way the dealer uses its logo, why not ask Trade Me and the dealer to review the situation? But again, I don't think the use of the logo is so misleading that buyers could suffer any financial loss or harm if they buy an e-Power or BMW i3 REX from this dealer. Surely it must be obvious to even the least informed buyer that a car which can use petrol cannot have "zero emissions".
