I will be likely selling our Tesla Model 3 SR (5.6 sec motor) which has done demo km next month. PPF protected, done less than 6000km, Homelink, plus all the accessories. Lives in the garage. Wellington pick up. If anyone is interested in picking up a Model 3 please let me know. My price will be reasonable than any others available. Cheers! (With USD strengthening against NZD - there will be a price jump : and waiting is very long). The car is 14 months old.

Decided that we don’t need 3 Teslas in our household… it’s either we keep all three or sell one and keep our ICE for ski trips. We don’t have place for 4 cars…

After almost three years of owning the car, 28.2 has finally fixed an indicator bug that I've had to work around. Previously, if the indicator was already on in one direction and you wanted to indicate in the other direction, pushing the stalk all the way to indicate the other way would just cancel the current indicator. You then had to activate it a second time, but often if you did it too quickly it would only indicate once, which was rather annoying on roundabouts. With 28.2, if it's already indicating in one direction and you push the stalk all the way in the other direction it will now cancel that indicator and then start indicating in the opposite direction.

To me, the 28.2 update seemed to mainly be aimed at the Theatre Mode and games (certainly looking at the update notes). Glad to see there are some unannounced improvements as well. Although I had got used to doing a half press to cancel, then a full press to indicate when exiting a roundabout.

Haven’t needed to use navigation since the update. Does the multi-route thing work here?

Yeah I actually used it last night. It usually likes to route me home using the rural roads (which it still thinks are 100 but are now 60/80) rather than the motorway but this time I was also given the motorway route option to choose from.

Tesla is now removing the Ultra Sonic Sensors from new Model 3 & Y going forward and moving that functionality to Tesla Vision:

What I find weird is that Tesla would remove them before they’ve sorted out alternative means to provide current features -

For a short period of time during this transition, Tesla Vision vehicles that are not equipped with USS will be delivered with some features temporarily limited or inactive, including:

Park Assist: alerts you of surrounding objects when the vehicle is traveling <5 mph.
Autopark: automatically maneuvers into parallel or perpendicular parking spaces.
Summon: manually moves your vehicle forward or in reverse via the Tesla app.
Smart Summon: navigates your vehicle to your location or location of your choice via the Tesla app.

In the near future, once these features achieve performance parity to today’s vehicles, they will be restored via a series of over-the-air software updates.

Who’s to say that the ‘short period of time’ won’t be extended… While most of those features are not going to affect most owners (as part of FSD or EAP), it’s still a poor practice, I reckon.

The same thing happened when they removed radar for Tesla Vision - nearly all the same features were unavailable for a couple months and then they were added back again as the Tesla Vision solution was designed.

Still, it is a bit weird to do the switch before the software is completely ready.

Is that the same Tesla-Vision that thinks the wall of my garage is a semi-trailer when I pull in?

Yeah. When we bought the M3 , and assuming my wife would let me take it, I had visions of getting pissed at the pub, attaching the autopilot buddy hands to the steering wheel, bag of cement on the seat, sticking on FSD and having a nap in the back while it took me home.

I gave up on that idea (and Elons software boys) the first time it rained and I realised how crappy the auto wipers were.

So my order has changed from 5-7 months to showing TBD in the account - how long from that have people found their delivery happens?

Possibly have someone coming over to NZ needing to use a car and getting the tesla would free up my other one to use, making life easier.

What is the configuration that you've ordered and when did you order it?
