Hi all,

I have a 2001 Toyota Ipsum 240S, six seater.  the two middle seats have ISOFIX / LATCH but I need to put one seat in the back row.  This seat has a top tether strap for connecting to an achor bolt.  Where is the spot located to install the achor bolt.  I have seen nothing definative anywhere.  There are various points in the car (on the backs of seats and back corners of the car) where there is what I understand to be luggage tie down points but these only hold 25kg, whist that may seem enough, it is not.  So I need to know for the back (3rd) row where to attach or where to put the achor bolt for the top tether strap of the carseeat.

No mechanic I have phoned thus far knows.  They all say bring it in and we will look.  My manual is in Japanese, (Iwill be getting an english one), Toyota said to brin it in for them to look to, no one can tell me 'oh yes, I know where that goes; to inspire any confidence.

I would rather like to keep the parcel tray on and be able to use it (flip it up and down) if I can.

Please anyone out there let me know.

Thanks.

No, I don't think there was a factory designed / factory specified location to install the anchor bolt as previously mentioned, they just located the best place they could and drilled it in.

I know the pictures are small, sorry, but the strap runs flat down the back of the seat, then through a hole in the compartment under the parcel tray, but not through the parcel tray, then a point is anchored in the compartment, and the strap attaches to that.
