I bought the cheapest wifi and bluetooth ones on aliexpress, and with torque or any of the apps they just sit there going thru a list of protocols before declaring that no ecu was found.

has anyone got something that they have working on a 2000 vintage toyota?

The BT one is a ELM327 v2.1 which some places say is a bad clone that doesnt work, the wifi one is also an elm327 but no version came up that I can rememner, and I dont really want wifi because android is stupid and stops using 4G when it has a wifi connection to nothing.

Is it an ex-Japan domestic model? I know that they need different settings in Torque etc - I found the default settings wouldn't work with a five-year old Jap import. Not sure anymore what you would need to put in, but I previously posted this info.
