A boat has been parked next to the intersection for more than a week now, it's half on the street and half on the sidewalk, blocking view of vehicles coming from the right.

This is also in two school zones, which poses risk for children walking to school because they can not see turning vehicles.

The police refers me to the council but Auckland City council said this is unenforceable because the trailer is not displaying license plate.

Does anyone have similar situations? With school holiday coming to an end I am a bit concerned about the safety of the kids.

I think trailers are considered to be vehicles, and should be registered, etc.

Do Auckland Transport only throw their weight around when they feel like it?

Their website has the advice

"If you want a vehicle towed, call (09) 355 3553.

If you believe a vehicle is illegally parked"

Even if the owner has abandoned the trailer AT should get it moved.

If you park any vehicle illegally without plates it should be an automatic tow with recovery fees payable by the owner, and if not claimed and paid within x months, the vehicle should be sold to cover any costs.
