Quick question for any one with an outlander and a tow ball bike rack. I want to buy a 4 bike tow bar rack, it will have two 20 inch kids bikes and 2 adult bikes. Did you buy a rack with a tow bar extension?. I put our three bike one on tonight from our sedan the bikes I think would be very close to the boot window. I am thinking mabey one with an offset or one built for a spare tyre on the back. Any recommendations on if I need an extender or normal size would fit cheers

Can't speak for the Outlander, but I have a Thule twin bike rack and its gets very close to the back of my VW Golf. I found I had to buy bike bones to make sure the tyres didn't swing about and hit the back of my car. Hope that helps...

Thank you that’s a great suggestion will look at getting one specially for the first 2 bikes on the rack cheers

As someone who regularly transports several bikes on the back of a car, a bungee around all the front wheels munging them all together stops them banging just fine.
