I had a possum commit suicide via "Death by Smart", and he took a bloody great chunk out the front of the car (the little git probably survived as well!)

I was thinking a few weeks ago that maybe I should get some mini bull bars (well more like "Possum bars") on the car to fend of the local wildlife, and looks like I tempted fate ... so does anyone know of a shop that cab fabricate bull bars ?

AFAIK anything on the front would have to be certified that it didn't affect the frontal impact performance of the car.

Hmmm you are right I think, a quick look on the NZ transport site reveals that you can't fit them to MA class vehicles.. might need to rethink things .. wonder if a single bar low down would be ok ?

Don't smart car panels just clip on? Can't you just replace the dent panel?

If not maybe raise your car so you can let them pass straight under without damaging your car :-)

I don't think a single bar will help, Possums tend to stand up at the last minute. The damage may be worse than it looks too, hitting an animal often breaks the clips that hold the bumper on.

Thats what I'm talking about, you fuel economy might gout out the window by a litre or two but hey at least you will be fine if it floods or if there is a zombie apocalypse.

Wellington Tow Bars do some awesome bar work and are clued up on what's legal and what isn't.
