Can anyone recommend any DIY scratch repair systems they have used?  Really just for general small surface scratches. I saw one advertised on TV but can't recall what it was called. One I have come across is called Quixx, anyone tried it, and if so did it give good results. From the ad, it looks like itt melts the edge of the scratch to fill it up.

Friend tried the one from the warehouse that they have the annoying screen playing an ad for on a loop. Its a pen thing. It made the whiteness of the scratch go away but its still obvious that its not right.

There's the DuPont pen they advertise on TV. Available at Repco. It appears to just replace the Clear Coat though, so possibly no good if the scratch is deeper than the colour layer of paint.

Check with local car painters, as I understand they should be able to order or even make up spray cans, pens or just pots of paint to suit your car.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

Head to mitre10/the warehouse.

One of those marker type pen is quite useful for ***light*** scratches.

It is not going to be as good as being repainted, but should be good enough, after some polishing.

I banged up a wing mirror, took a bunch of paint off. I went to a store that mixed up spray cans of paint that matches my cars color code, got a can of the clear spray, covered the car in clear plastic to protect it, light sand, two coats, clear coat, done. Really easy. I'd probably do any panel on the car like that. I wouldn't do it for a light scratch.

If the scratch isnt too deep, polish it out with some fine cut compound. (Meguiars Pro - Fine Cut).

If its through to the base or primer coat, fill it in with some colour matched paint (might take 2-3 coats with a super fine brush or feed it in with toothpick). Once fully dry in a few days buff it level with some fine cut compound.
