I saw recently a luggage tracker Trackdot

I wondered how it over came the issue of being on during a flight. I there info they say that the unit goes into airplane mode , clever! quite how I wouldn't know. Most of us have experienced why they are a good idea. It will be interesting to see how they go in practice. 
It did however made me start to think. Tracking anyone or anything across the globe is now a affordable option rather than paying for a breitling watch.

I was thinking how the trackdot unit decided when to turn itself off and on and if an app has been made for our mobiles to perform the same function?

If not some clever person on here should build one.

Anyone used the trackdot?
