Has anyone bought one of these dash cams from oemaudio.co.nz in Christchurch?
I think it looks pretty good, and $238 for the camera + 32GB card + courier is a price I'm happy with if it's a good product.
I could certainly buy something cheaper (and quite possibly much lower quality) and I'm happy to support a kiwi company.
(I have a Navman Mivue in one car and that has been fine, they now seem to make it incredibly difficult to actually buy one now. )

Any thoughts? Thanks.

Cheers,
Joseph

Also I plan to hardwire for power, something I'm probably capable of doing myself but am interested in others experiences. I've seen this kit online which looks frankly super cool IMHO, I don't know if there's a local/compatible equivalent that would be a bit cheaper!

Did a bit of sleuthing based on the lens type

Looks like this one https://dashcamtalk.com/matego-mg380g/

And it seems you can add 'Spy Tek' to the branding list https://www.amazon.com/Spy-Tec-MG380G-Recorder-Dashboard/dp/B011PK7XQC

Possibly your usual hit-n-miss with higher quality internals vs chinese fakes as with the rest :/

Sorry, not answering your question but one concern I have about speed-recording dashcams is that if you ever needed to use the footage in an insurance dispute, and it showed you were speeding (even slightly), you might find the case going against you.  For instance, you're driving along a road 3kph over the limit and someone pulls out in front, causing a crash - who takes the rap?

Very interesting! Thanks for that.

I priced up the one on amazon, adding the suggested 32gb card, with delivery: NZ$202. So not a huge mark up buying from the local supplier.
