Hi,

"Manuals.co"

Signed up expecting to be able to download said manual for automobile.

Im guessing you cant (but under the under the user profile options I see options as such).

Anyone found an easy way to download these manuals?

Most if not all of those sites are dodgy as. I'm not even going to look.

Which manual are you looking for?

I've had good luck on scribd. I've been lucky sometimes with expanded parts diagrams available on dealer sites via Google search. Sometimes enough to see what's going on.

There are lots of scam websites that consist solely of search terms and computer generated text, PDFs, random pictures etc. Which are designed to manipulate the Google page rank system. You then get directed to a website that asks for your credit card details. Check the cached version of the page that Google has saved. You can very quickly tell if the page is a scam page or not. The website addresses usually are also a giveaway.

And if you have given such a site your credit card details. Report the card as stolen, and charge back whatever you were billed. As you were not supplied with the item that you were promised (the correct manual).

So far, Scribd seems to be the only website that is legit. And even that has alot of user uploaded content. So the content may still not be what you are looking for.

If the manual is for a used Japanese import car. An English version of the manual that you want might not even exist.

Manuals.co is legit... as the manuals appear, but you have to scroll through 'page by page'. i.e. one webpage link per page of the manual.  Its cumbersome....but I guess thats their way of making sure people dont simply download it.   WHICH IS I WANT TO DO !

They have an option to download but it seems like its not yet a 'feature'.

I'll try the Scribed thing.. but Manuals.co had excatley what I wanted.  (a lot of others claim to have my manual but its for the model after).

One would think in this day and age car manufacturers would be happy to sell PDF manuals online for a token $$

Have a look on ebay, I've found plenty of people selling service manual PDFs for $2-10. Worth it to get what you want without the hassle of dealing with all the crap you get when trying to find them online yourself.

Agree. My guess is they have some exclusive geographic sale agreement which ends up being web hostile in practice. Pointless and no good to anyone. Wonder if Tesla is any different there.

No, Tesla are like the pricks at apple.
You are not allowed to work on anything on a Tesla unless you are contracted by them to...

Probably they don't want to undermine their dealerships (and the money that the dealerships pay to the manufacturer).

Managed to find a owners forum (much like this site), and got what I needed.  (pretty much the same as what I saw those other 'manual type sites' show but this was an actual pdf to download.

As for Tesla, give it long time and every second garage will be a tesla accredited dealer......(its just a matter of time....when millennial mechanics evolve...
