The Hazard

Subaru Corporation (SBR, the Japanese Manufacturer of Subaru Vehicles) has advised SNZ that certain New Zealand Grey Market Impreza, XV and 2.0L Forester models (manufactured between 16th January 2012 and 14th May 2013) and some BRZ models (Manufactured start of production to 14th May 2013) may, in very rare cases, contain a potentially defective engine valve spring. If a valve spring fractures the engine may stall and may not be able to be restarted. SNZ will conduct a Recall Campaign to rectify this potential defect.

What to do

Once we receive the parts for your vehicle, we will get in contact with a letter confirming parts are in stock for your vehicle, it will provide information about contacting your local Authorised Subaru Dealer for the recall to be completed. Please note the Model year is different to Registration Year.
