Hello everyone, I have just taken the plunge and purchased a Mazda and I absolutely love the car! Does anyone know if there is a way that I can update the maps to NZ roads? It is a fresh import from Japan so it doesn't have the maps for here, and the card that is in the car is a Mini B-Cas card, so not sure how to update the card, or shall I take it to a Mazda dealership to do it? Thank you!

I would be surprised if an official Mazda dealer would be able to help you

IME if you can get it at all, it would be ridiculously expensive. Mazda is probably the only place you could ask.  Just use maps on your phone or buy a separate GPS unit.  In car satnav systems, particularly of that era, were terrible.

Mazda us TomTom mapping. I've seen on YouTube videos of how to update the SD card that holds the navigation files.

@RUKI had a thread for 2014-2018 Mazdas with an NZ conversion of the infotainment. I know it’s not your model year, but he may be able to give you a steer on what is possible.

If it’s a standard double DIN head unit you’d be better to swap it out for a modern android auto one, then you’ll always have up to date maps and traffic and won’t need a band expander
