You probably heard of TIL - "Today I Learned"

📌During the last five years we all have learned how fast batteries in "the most popular" and most affordable EV deteriorate.
📌During the same 5 years I've seen so much mocking of one reputable company, alongside or in conjunction with their developments around hydrogen. I could've only guessed what they had up their sleeve.

📍TIL: Nickel Hydrogen batteries are so long lived - they have been used in equipment on Mars:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nickel%E2%80%93hydrogen_battery

TIL: Toyota Aqua which was discontinued in New Zealand from 2020 and used NiMh chemistry is actually still very much alive and its new version is manufactured now in Japan using Ni-Hydrogen batteries:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Aqua#XP210

Which means, when 5 year old cars from Japan will start hitting the NZ market in 2026, there would probably be no AZEO Leafs left which could make it from the garage to the mailbox, and people will be buying Aquas and whatever other Ni-hydrogen hybrids Toyota have to offer.

Something I always wondered. Gen3 Prius was 3 litres per 100km, then gen4 went back to the standard 4.2/100km. I always wondered why they did that.

Two different cars: Prius 2009-2014 - 1.8L Engine, Prius C (Aqua) 2012 - 2019 - 1.5L

This is an interesting feature feature, though may not have utility here.
If they start doing hybrid Fielders with that add 110V appliances for a freedom camping setup ?
""
An accessory power outlet (AC100 V / 1,500 W) and an emergency power supply mode are equipped to all grades as standard.
During blackouts and other times of emergency, parking the vehicle and placing it in Emergency Power Supply Mode enables the Aqua to be used to power electrical appliances such as electric kettles and hair dryers.

It is not something new. 1.5 kW 100V power supply were introduced a while ago. E.g. 9 out of 10 imported E-NV200 Vissan Vans have 1.5kW 100V PS on board.
As many PS nowadays in NZ are SMPS - they would work from anything 100-240V AC, e.g. Phone and laptop chargers, TV and computer screens, Printer, Scanner, Desktop PC, Stereo Amplifier.
What won't work is: fridge, microwave oven, hair drier, cooling fan, soldering iron, rice maker, toaster.
