Over Christmas I was constantly being invited to join Spotify Premium for the special price of $1 per month for the first 3 months(offer ends 31st Dec). The offer was served up while listening on my Ipad, as well the offer was served up within the app itself so I see this as directly having been offered to me 1 to 1 so had know qualms about qualifying for the deal. I clicked the in app special offer which took me to Spotify Premium on the Apple Store at $16.99 per month. I assumed which I think is quite rightly so that although the App said $16.90 in the app store, that i would be charged $1 to my itunes account as per the promo offer. I have just looked at my credit card and Apple receipt and have been charged the normal $16.99 not impressed.
If you signup within the app then you pay more because Spotify get charged more, by Apple in this case. If you want it cheaper signup via the Spotify website directly and then login to the app. Hence the $16.99 vs $12.99
A good outcome I take my hat off to Apple this was quick and easy
