Apologies if the title is confusing. Just came across this deal @ Brother.

https://www.brother.co.nz/latest-promotions/warranty-upgrade

Brother International (NZ) Limited, NZBN 9429040930077 (Brother) is giving eligible customers the ability to add up to an additional 12-month coverage period to their existing On-Site Warranty (Upgrade), increasing the total warranty period to five (5) years. This offer is available for a limited time only. An eligible customer will need to accurately complete a product registration and once approved by Brother, will become entitled to the Upgrade.

1. The Upgrade offer opens at 12:00am on 01st September 2021 and closes at 11:59pm on 31st December 2021 (Upgrade Period). No Upgrades may be applied for or provided outside of the Upgrade Period.

2. To be an eligible customer for the Upgrade, you must have purchased a Brother Printer within the past five years, and you must meet the Brother Eligibility Criteria, as set out in the On-Site Warranty (except for the On-Site Warranty Period of four years). If you do not meet the criteria, you are not eligible to receive the Upgrade.  For clarity, the Upgrade does not extend to any Limited 12 Month Return to Base Warranty (as set out in the On-Site Warranty).

3. To apply for the Upgrade, the eligible customer must register their Brother Printer, following the communications/instructions Brother provides, within the Upgrade Period. Eligible customers must complete all required details on the product registration page and may be required to provide sufficient proof of purchase (including date of purchase). By applying for the Upgrade, eligible customers represent and warrant that all information submitted by them is true and complete.

Id rather have a discount on the device to be honest. An extra 12 months warranty aint gonna entice me to go buy a new printer..... although I have been seeking out a brother MF laser printer for sometime... I keep circling about waiting for a good deal...

Ive already one Brother inkjet.... its a good 10 years old at least....

maybe ive just jinxed it.

But point is... you never hear about Brother hardware faults....usually all HP, Epsom and Cannon that dont last....

Kind of wish that  Brother would bring out a Inktank printer rather than crappy inkcart ones.

The other thing with these extended warrantees you have to buy genuine Brother refiles that are about twice the price of good refills.

It’s not just for when buying new.
My parents got a brother mfc about a year ago and they got the email as well.
My dad being well trained forwarded the email to me to check if it was real or not before following any links. :)

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

Thanx for that .  I'm trying to find out what the difference between the  MFCJ4440DW $299 and the MFCJ4340DW $449 is  as except from the front panel the specs seem nearly the same  with the $299 one also has LAN interface along  with WiFi and USB.  I had a look and Brother also  does a true bottle refill inktank but not here in NZ. It's the  MFC-T810W  which seems only available Asia.
